Wine manufacturing is big business and this basically because most people love to drink wine. For reputable wine manufacturers, the success formula is quality. Produce great wine and your product will sell. Speaking from the perspective of a wine connoisseur, I have to admit that I do not know it all. On the other hand, speaking from the point of view of a wine dealer, I know a few things about good wine and these are the tips I would like to share with you.

In the first place, wines are classified according to the type of grape used to make the wine. This is why you have white wine, red wine rose wine and sparkling wine. Apart from grape classification, wine can also be classified by the production style of the product. In this case, some wines are described as desert wines, fortified wines and ice wines.

Wines can also be described as dry, light, medium or full-bodied. Another excellent method of classifying wines is to use the origins of the product. California wine means that the grapes used to make the wine were grown in California. Burgundy wine comes from the Burgundy region in France. Chianti wine is made from grapes grown in the Chianti region in Tuscany. Many regions in Europe and America are famous for the wines they produce. These places include Santa Barbara, Bordeaux, Chardonnay and Champagne (yes, Champagne is in France).

Now, we can leave the “wine geography” and move on to the different types of wine. It will also make sense to connect each type to the right occasion and the right food. If you want to be a connoisseur, you need to know these things.

The Cabernet Sauvignon is considered one of the finest red wines on earth. It is a full-bodied wine and it goes best with beef, lamb or goose. The Champagne is a very popular wine. It is sweet, bubbly and medium-bodied. It comes from the Champagne region in France and it is the ideal drink for celebrations.

The Chardonnay is a white wine and it falls into the dry and semi-sweet category. It can be flavored with fruit and it is great with chicken and seafood. One very popular wine for people who love strong wine is port. Port is a fortified red wine with a high alcoholic content. It is great as an after dinner drink.

Other popular wines are Merlot, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Rosé and Sauvignon Blanc. As you can see, you need to know a few things to enjoy your wine.
